TERMS & CONDITIONS

Our Terms & Conditions set out the guidelines for using our website and participating in Resilience Runners activities, helping create a safe, respectful and welcoming community for everyone.

Last updated: 1 October 2026

Welcome to Resilience Runners. These Terms & Conditions explain the rules for using our website, joining our community activities, and participating in our runs and events.

By using our website or participating in a Resilience Runners activity, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. ABOUT RESILIENCE RUNNERS

Resilience Runners is a community running organisation based in Cork, Ireland. We bring people together through running, movement, wellbeing and social connection.

Our activities may include community runs, walks, social events, outdoor activities and other community programmes.

2. PARTICIPATION

Our activities are designed to be welcoming and inclusive.

Participants are responsible for deciding whether they are able to safely participate in an activity. You should consider your own fitness, experience and circumstances before taking part.

Unless an event states otherwise:

  • Beginners and experienced runners are welcome.
  • Participants should follow instructions from organisers and event leaders.
  • Participants should respect other members of the community.
  • Participants should arrive appropriately prepared for the activity.
  • Participants must comply with applicable laws and venue or location rules.
3. HEALTH & SAFETY

Running and physical activity involve inherent risks, including injury, illness, falls, traffic, weather conditions and other hazards.

You participate in our activities voluntarily and should take reasonable care of your own safety.

If you feel unwell, injured or unable to continue safely, stop participating and inform an organiser.

Resilience Runners is a community organisation and is not a medical, healthcare or therapy service. Our activities are not intended to diagnose, treat or prevent medical or mental-health conditions.

4. RUNNING WITH THE GROUP

Our community runs are generally social rather than competitive.

Participants should:

  • Follow the agreed route and organiser instructions.
  • Respect pedestrians, cyclists, road users and other members of the public.
  • Stay aware of their surroundings.
  • Run at a pace appropriate for the group and their own ability.
  • Inform an organiser if they need assistance.
  • Avoid behaviour that could put themselves or others at unnecessary risk.

Where practical, organisers may adjust routes, distances or activities because of weather, safety, numbers or other circumstances.

5. EVENTS & CHANGES

Event details may occasionally change because of weather, venue availability, safety concerns or circumstances outside our control.

We may change, postpone or cancel an activity when necessary.

Where reasonably possible, we will communicate important changes through our website, social media, WhatsApp community or other relevant communication channels.

6. REGISTRATION

Some activities may require registration.

When registering, you agree to provide accurate information and to notify us if relevant information changes.

Registration does not guarantee participation where an event has limited capacity or additional requirements.

7. PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEO

Photography and video may take place at some Resilience Runners activities for community communications, event highlights, social media and promotional purposes.

Where appropriate, we will provide information about photography at an event.

If you have concerns about an image or video featuring you, please contact us at:

Further information about personal data and photography is available in our Privacy Policy.

8. COMMUNITY CONDUCT

We want Resilience Runners to be a respectful and welcoming community.

Participants must not:

  • Harass, threaten or intimidate others.
  • Discriminate against another person.
  • Engage in abusive or inappropriate behaviour.
  • Deliberately disrupt community activities.
  • Damage property.
  • Engage in unlawful behaviour.
  • Share inappropriate or harmful content through community channels.

We may ask someone to leave an activity or community channel where their behaviour creates a safety or community concern.

9. WHATSAPP & ONLINE COMMUNITIES

Our WhatsApp and social media communities are provided to help members communicate and stay informed.

Members are expected to communicate respectfully and follow the rules of the relevant platform.

We may remove inappropriate content or restrict participation where necessary to protect the community.

10. CHILDREN & AGE REQUIREMENTS

Individual activities may have different age requirements.

Where an event is specifically for adults, the applicable minimum age will be stated in the event information.

Participants must comply with the age requirements communicated for each activity.
